My Story

CraftyFireman Started as a hobby to help with Anxiety and Depression. Starting life joining the Military right after High school. I proudly served in The US Navy as a shipboard firefighter (DamageControlman).  While on a deployment serving onboard the USS MS Tisdale FFG27 I was sadly Injured during an exercise. And eventually medically released. Not knowing what to do and very depressed I was very fortunate to be given an opportunity to continue my firefighter career working for Barona Indian Reservation. Proudly working for Barona as a Firefighter Paramedic for 25 years my injuries caught up to me and I was forced to medically retire ending my Career in 2024. 

Starting The Crafty Fireman as a hobby to ease my mind while still working as a firefighter. It started with just a small laser engraver I purchased from XTool in 2019 to do tumblers and laser engrave items for guys at work. As I pregressed I was honored to have been donated a CNC machine from Inventables in 2021, and Boy i love this machine. Making small wood signs I am learning a ton about CNC. This really took my hobby to a next level. But being a typical firefighter and stubborn Vet and having the mind set i need to be a jack of all trades I added a cricut machine to make small order t-shirts for friends and family. I then added a 3D printer to make items for my equipment. Then eventually adding a PE900 embroidery machine to do some custom shirts while at work. So bagan the journey of The Crafty Fireman.

But the journey has just began. Slowly upgrading equipment as I learned and needed more. I now have a DTF printer. 10 needle embroidery machine, white toner printer, sticker printer, a printer for fabric, a fabric cutter. Being Medically retired I now have time to focus and develop my hobby. With more plans to upgrade my equipment as I can so I can keep up with the times and  fully focus a love that started as a hobby and turn it into a small business. Follow along the journey as I will be growing along side you on social media. Good times and Bad times I will learn with you and hopefully grow as a person and business. I'll talk about all the equipment I started with and why I upgraded or need to upgrade. learn to use new machines and show you the process. no matter the outcome.
